Elaine Grahek Named Positive Spirit MVP for May

by Federal Defense Industries

Congratulations to Elaine Grahek, recipient of the Positive Spirit MVP Award for the month of May. Phil Ochoa, FDI’s president and CEO is pleased to recognize Elaine with this award, commenting on her “alertness and quick action to prevent financial fraud against the company.” Elaine noticed that something was off with a payment request from one of FDI’s suppliers. After investigating her concerns, she learned that the supplier’s email system had been hacked and quickly notified the bank and helped the supplier avoid a loss.

Elaine serves as Accounting Manager for FDI and has been with the company for 12 years. She is responsible for receivables, payables and payroll. When Elaine began working at FDI, there were only five employees. She says as the company grew so did her responsibilities. She joined the company to help with a big project, and that project turned into a full-time opportunity.  She remembers fondly in the early years of the company everyone helped with everything. Seeing the company evolve has been exciting for Elaine and she is proud she’s been able to experience and be a part of the growth at FDI.

Elaine enjoys the accounting field and says it is a great fit for her because she loves everything about numbers, especially when everything balances to the penny; and she enjoys working with everyone at FDI.

When not working, Elaine loves gardening, walking, bike riding and baking. She has been married for 36 years and has two children.

FDI’s monthly Positive Spirit MVP award recognizes employees for outstanding contributions to the Company.
